Upper Plains

Acrylic on cedar shake.
Upper Plains landscape with barn.

WHAT?!?!

I'm constantly surprised at what decides to show up.
This was just a warm-up exercise as I was getting ready to do a mountain landscape.
Then this BIRD flies in!
When I stood back to see how the colors were working, there it was.
I'm assuming Raven.

Aspen With Mountains

Acrylic on fabric.
I have painted quite a number on this theme.
Since I have none left, I'm thinking I had better paint myself one to KEEP!

Representing Dakota

Acrylic on fabric, silhouette.

Raven and Wolf

Because generally speaking wolves and ravens are often found sharing a similar habitat, one would expect that there would be myths and legends regarding them.  It's something to look into.  I read somewhere that seeing them together is supposed to indicate good fortune.

Dakota Skyscape

This is one I kind of wish I had kept.
It went to a ND Women's Ag event as a door prize.
Another acrylic on cedar shake.

Pregnant Woman In Rock

A rockscape on a 100 year old cedar shake was just a kind of fun exercise for me.
When it was finished I set it aside as I am wont to do, to look at later.
When I looked at it later, I was surprised to see the pregnant woman as I had no idea she was there.
